Merrrrry Christmas! Ho, ho, ho!

Today is December 24! Christmas Eve is finally here!

I'm making last minute plans to make my Christmas deliveries tonight. I checked my pack as the elves were filling it and I've got some really great things in there for you! You'll be very happy when you get up tomorrow morning and see what I've left for you. Ho, ho, ho! Well, the reindeer are all ready to go, so I better get out there now! I hope you have the best Christmas ever! Ho, ho, ho!

Merrrrry Christmas! Ho, ho, ho!

Today is December 23! Just 2 more days. Ho, ho, ho!

I can't believe how qickly the time goes by. Tomorrow, I'll be packing my sleigh and delivering your Christmas presents after you are asleep. That reminds me, I better do a last check of my list. (I know that you've been very good this year.)

Don't forget, tomorrow you can check on the Santa Tracker (on the right side) and see where I am delivering presents. When I get close to your house, make sure you go to bed. (I won't deliver your presents until you are asleep.)

Merrrrry Christmas! Ho, ho, ho!

Today is December 22, 2007. Just 3 more days! Are you excited about Christmass? Me too! Ho, ho, ho!

The elves made a new harness system for the reindeer. The harness is like a belt that goes around the reindeers' tummy. It connects to a long leather rope that I hold onto when I'm steering the sleigh. I hold onto the rope and use it to to tell the reindeer which way to turn. When I pull on the left side, the reindeer turn left. When I pull on the right side, the reindeer turn right. Ho, ho, ho! You see, it's really pretty easy to steer the sleigh! Ho, ho, ho!

Merrrrry Christmas! Ho, ho, ho!

Today is December 21! Just 4 more days!

Oh my goodness, Christmas is almost here. I have so much to do to get ready. I am very busy this time of year!
I've got to check my list again, to see who is naughty and who is nice.
I have to make sure that all the toys are finished on time.
I'll have to make sure the toys are packed into my bag properly.
I have to make sure the reindeer are in tip-top flying shape.
I'll have to check on the sleigh so that we can glide through the air on Christmas Eve.
I've got to make sure that my boots are clean and shiny.
Oh dear, there is so much to do and Christmas is getting near.
But don't worry, we always get everything done in time for Christmas. Ho, ho, ho!

Well, I've got to go and get started on my list.

Today is December 20, just 5 more days! Can you believe it? I can't wait! How about you? Ho, ho, ho!

I feel bad for the elves. They had to work overtime last night so that they can get all the toys made before Christmas. Some of them worked right through dinner. Mrs. Claus felt so sorry for them that she got up early this morning and made them breakfast. She was in the kitchen cooking for hours (the elves eat a lot!) Do you eat a good breakfast every morning? I do too.

Today is December 19. Wow! Just 6 more days, that's less than a week!

Things are very busy now at the North Pole. The elves are working very hard in the toy shop trying to get all the toys made. I checked with them to make sure that they had enough time to finish them all. They told me that they should finish up and make the last toy with 15 minutes to spare. That will give them just enough time to pack it into my sleigh before I take off. Those elves are amazing.Ho, ho, ho!

Merrrrry Christmas! Ho, ho, ho!

Today is December 18, just 1 week from today!

What is your favorite book? Mine is 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. Ho, ho, ho!

I've included the written words below so that you can follow along.

THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS
by Clement Clarke Moore

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.
And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name.

"Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! on Cupid! on, Donder and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my hand, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.

His eyes how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow.

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself.
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose.

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."

Today is December 13, Just 12 More days!!!

Earlier today we had the annual Reindeer race and it was really exciting! Whoever wins the race gets to lead my sleigh on Christmas Eve. All the elves line up to see it and we serve hot chocolate to stay warm. Even Frosty the snowman was there, but Frosty doesn't like hot chocolate. (Can you guess why?)

The race started out with Blitzen in the lead. Then Donner zoomed ahead but was passed by Cupid and Blitzen. Vixen, Dasher, Prancer, and Dancer were getting ready to take the lead when all of a sudden Rudolph came soaring up to the front right at the finish line and won the race. It was very exciting. All of the elves were cheering for their favorites and it was really fun.

Because Rudolph won this year, he will lead my sleigh on Christmas Eve. Rudolph is very happy that he won. Ho, ho, ho!

I've got an idea for you for another Christmas project you can do. Have you ever made Christmas ornaments for your Christmas tree? It would look great on your tree. Your tree was really pretty last year and I think a homemade ornament that you made yourself would make it perfect! Ho, ho, ho!

Get some paper and draw a Christmas decoration on it. It can be a picture of me, a bell, a snowman, a snowflake, your tree, or anything you like. Color it nicely and try to stay in the lines. When you are all done, make sure you put the date on it. Then, have one of your parents cut it out and put a small hole at the top . Thread colorful ribbon (or a string works just as well) through the hole in the top. Tie the ribbon (or string) and you've got a Christmas ornament. Hang it right in the front of the tree so that I can see it when I come to your house on Christmas Eve. I can't wait to see it. I'll bet it's beautiful! Ho, ho, ho!

Merrrrry Christmas! Ho, ho, ho!

Today is December 11. Only 14 more days until Christmas (that's just 2 weeks)! It will be here before you know it! Ho, ho, ho!

Mrs. Claus was checking my suit this morning and getting it ready so I can wear it on Christmas Eve when she found a big hole in it! I must have torn it coming down someone's chimney! It's a good thing she found it. I would have been very cold on Christmas Eve if I wore it with that big hole in it. She's fixing it now by sewing in a swatch of material with a needle and thread.

The North Pole looks beautiful this time of year. Everything is decorated with Christmas lights and Christmas carols are playing in the background. I like to go out and look at the lights at night whenever I have time. Do you ever go out with your parents in the evenings to look at Christmas lights? Ask your parents to take you out one night to look at the lights. It's really pretty. And make sure you bring along some Christmas music. It's a lot of fun! Ho, ho, ho!

Rudolph

Mrs. Claus is making Christmas cookies again today. She has to make them often because the elves just love them. Do you like cookies? What is your favorite kind of cookie? My favorite cookie is the kind you left out for me last year. Yummy, they were really good! Ho, ho, ho!

I asked Mrs. Claus to make a special oatmeal treat for the reindeer. They love oats.

If you want to leave the reindeer a special treat (instead of carrots) this Christmas Eve, I'll give you the secret recipe for a special reindeer treat that the reindeer love. It's easy to do and your mom can help you.

Get a small, sandwich size paper bag. Decorate it with crayons. Draw whatever you like on the bag and color it nicely. (I've seen some of the pictures that you've drawn so I know you'll be great at this.) When you finish decorating the bag, get your mom to help you add about 1/2 cup of dry, uncooked oats (the kind your mom uses to make oatmeal) into the bag you decorated. Add 1/2 cup of raisins and mix them together. Using colored ribbon, or string, tie the bag about 3 inches from the top and you're done. You've got a beautifully decorated treat that you can leave out for the reindeer on Christmas Eve.

Today is December 8, That means there are just 17 more days til Christmas! Wow! Christmas will be here before you know it. I can't wait, how about you?

I just finished feeding the reindeer and now I'm cleaning up the feeding area. Do you clean up your room and put your toys away when you're done playing with them? That's good. That makes me happy! Ho, ho, ho!

I'll be in stores all day today talking to children and asking what they want for Christmas. Will you be coming to see me? I hope so. Ho, ho, ho!

At the same time that I'm in the stores, I'm supposed to be showing the elves how to make one of the newest toys this year, maybe it's one of the toys you asked for. Anyway, you might be asking yourself, "How can Santa be in two places at once?" Well, that's impossible, even for me! Ho, ho, ho! One of the elves came up with a very good idea. He said that I should make a recording of my voice, and play it for the elves. That way, I can show them how to make the toys while I'm at the stores talking to children. That solved my problem. The elves are very smart! In fact, they're almost as smart as you. Ho, ho, ho!

Today is December 7, 2007. Do you know how many days until Christmas? There are just18 more days! Wow, we are really getting close!

There was some sort of mix-up in the workshop today. It appears that some of the elves were building toys from last year's list. That could have been a problem. It's a good thing that I caught it in time. Otherwise, nobody would have gotten the right toys. But it is all fixed now, and don't worry, everybody will get the right toys this year. Ho, ho, ho!

Frosty the snowman stopped by this morning. He said he had to leave early because he is going to be on TV tonight. Do you like Frosty? Me too! He's one of my favorites. Do you remember what his nose is made of? That's a hard question. He has a button for a nose. It looks pretty cute, too. It always make me laugh and smile when I see Frosty. Ho, ho, ho! But, after the elves adjusted them they were working just fine. We have to do that in case it snows on Christmas Eve. Do you like snow? Me too, I love the snow! Ho, ho, ho! Remember yesterday when Rudolph saved the day by putting the star on top of the tree? Well, the elves very happy and wanted to do something nice for Rudolph and the other reindeer.

All the elves gathered together and went out into the Christmas tree forest and cut down the biggest tree they could find. Then, they put the tree up in the reindeer yard and decorated it. Merrrrry Christmas! Ho, ho, ho!

Today is December 2, just 23 more days until Christmas! Ho, ho, ho! Did you get your Christmas tree yet? We already put our Christmas tree up here at the North Pole. Mrs. Claus and I had a great time decorating it (along with the help of the elves, of course). It's a very big tree, about 20 feet tall. A tree that big wouldn't fit in your house, your ceilings are much too low. Anyway, We had a hard time deciding how to get the star onto the top of the tree. I couldn't reach it, and neither could the elves (they're very short you know). We stood around for a while trying to figure out what to do.

All of a sudden, the door burst open and Rudolph came flying into the room. His nose glowed bright red as he swooped down and grabbed the star in his mouth. He circled the room once, then flew to the top of the tree. He hovered there for a second, then gently placed the star perfectly at the very top of the tree. Everyone clapped their hands and cheered loudly. Rudolph had saved the day again. Rudolph grinned from ear to ear, he was very happy. Ho, ho, ho!

Who's Your favorite reindeer? ... Really? Don't tell anyone but he's my favorite too!

The closer we get to Christmas, the more excited the reindeer get, too. They know that Christmas is getting close. They are preparing themselves for our long journey on Christmas Eve. It's hard for them to pull my heavy sleigh. Especially in the beginning of the journey, when my pack is full.

So, if you can, it would be great if you could leave a carrot out for the reindeer on Christmas Eve. They'd really like it and it would give them an energy boost so we can finish our journey. Do you think you can do that for me? You can? Oh, Thank you! You are soooo nice. Ho, ho, ho!

Merrrrry Christmas! Ho, ho, ho!

There's just 1 more month until Christmas! That makes me very happy! Are you excited about Christmas? Me too, ho, ho, ho!

Tonight, after it gets dark, the reindeer and I will do a practice run on the route that we will take on Christmas Eve. Two elves come along with us to help navigate. The elves will make notes on where everyone lives so that everyone gets the right toys. And many families move during the year. We have to make sure we know how to get to the houses of children who moved since last Christmas. Ho, ho, ho!

After it gets dark tonight, if you should look up in the sky and see us go by on our practice run, make sure you wave and say hi. Ho, ho, ho!

It snowed again last night here at the North Pole. The elves are outside shoveling snow. They're a big help around here. Do you help Mommy with some of the chores around your house? You do? Oh, it makes me very happy to hear that. Ho, ho, ho!

Have you made your list and sent it to me yet? I'll be sure to watch for it!

I'm sorry to cut this short, but I've got to go now. I have to get back to the stores to hear what children want for Christmas.

Merrrrry Christmas! Ho, ho, ho!

I had so much fun at the parade yesterday! Ho, ho, ho! Did you have a good day yesterday? I hope so.

Today is the official opening of the Christmas season and I'm really excited! I'll be at stores all day asking children what they want for Christmas. Christmas music will be playing in the background and it will be great fun. Ho, ho, ho!

Don't forget to come see me and let me know what you want for Christmas. You don't have to come today, though. I'll be there until Christmas Eve.

I just checked my list and I see that you've been VERY good this this year. I am so proud of you. It makes me very happy. Ho, ho, ho!

Merrrrry Christmas! Ho, ho, ho!

The Christmas season officially starts with my appearance in the parade today. (Remember, I'll be waving to you - so wave back and say Hi!)

Starting tomorrow, I'll be at local stores to hear what you (and all of the other children) want for Christmas. Do you know when you're coming to see me yet? It's okay if you can't come tomorrow, I'll be there until Christmas Eve, so you have plenty of time.

A special friend of mine (Bryce) is a big Elvis fan and asked me to play this Christmas song for him. It really put me in the Christmas spirit! Ho, ho, ho!

Merrrrry Christmas! Ho, ho, ho!

Starting on Friday, I'll be at some local stores so you can tell me what you want for Christmas. Do you know when you're coming to see me this year? I'll bet that you've really grown since last year. I can't wait to see you.

Last year you seemed a little nervous when you came to see me. But, you were a lot younger then. Hopefully, you won't be scared this year. I look forward to seeing you soon and hearing what you want for Christmas.

One last thing, if your parents say it's okay, watch for me in the parade on Thursday. (It will be on TV.) If you see me wave, you'll know that I'm saying hi to you! Wave back and say hi! That will make me very happy. Ho, ho, ho!

I'm soooo happy! I'm packing up some clothes so that I can go to the Parade on Thursday. Remember, if you see me wave, I'm waving to you, so make sure you wave back to me and say Hi.

Thursday is the official start of the Christmas season, so things will really get busy around here. I gave the elves a day off today and they are all outside playing in the snow. They made about a hundred snow angels and little elf-sized snowmen. Ho, ho, ho! Have you ever made a snow angel or a snowman? It's a lot of fun.

Well, I'd better be going, the elves are calling me to go outside and play with them in the snow. We have lots of fun (and lots of snow) here at the North Pole.

Hello, how are you today? I was just out in the practice area with the reindeer. They were practicing their landings. You see, it is very important for them to
land very quietly on your roof on Christmas Eve. If they made a lot of noise when they landed, it would wake you up. And that wouldn't be good. Ho, ho, ho!

Have you ever heard the reindeer on your roof on Christmas Eve?

Oh, that reminds me, the reindeer asked me to say hi to you. If you wave and say hi to each one of them by name, I think they'll hear you, and that would make them very happy. Do you remember the names of all of my reindeer?

In case you forgot, their names are:

Dasher
Dancer
Prancer
Vixen
Comet
Cupid
Donner
Blitzen
Rudolph

Thank-you, you did a very good job! Ho, ho, ho! The reindeer will be very happy!

Merrrrry Christmas! Ho, ho, ho!

Guess who Mrs. Claus and I just saw, Frosty the snowman. He said he was in the neighborhood so he stopped by for a visit. We were so happy to see him. We just love Frosty. He always puts us in such a good mood. Does Frosty make you happy? I thought so. Ho, ho, ho!

Do you remember what kind of nose that Frosty has? How about his eyes, do you know what they are made of? Sorry, those were pretty hard questions. Well, to refresh your memory about Frosty, I've included the words to his song below. Maybe you can sing it with your Mommy or Daddy.

Frosty The Snowman

Frosty the snowman was a jolly happy soul,
With a corncob pipe and a button nose,
And two eyes made out of coal.
Frosty the snowman is a fairy tale, they say,
He was made of snow but the children
know how he came to life one day.
There must have been some magic in that
Old silk hat they found.
For when they placed it on his head,
He began to dance around.

O, Frosty the snowman
Was alive as he could be,
And the children say he could laugh
And play just the same as you and me.
Thumpetty thump thump,
Thumpety thump thump,
Look at Frosty go.
Thumpetty thump thump,
Thumpety thump thump,
Over the hills of snow.

Frosty the snowman knew
The sun was hot that day,
So he said, "Let's run and
we'll have some fun
now before I melt away."
Down to the village,
With a broomstick in his hand,
Running here and there all
Around the square saying,
Catch me if you can.
He led them down the streets of town
Right to the traffic cop.
And he only paused a moment when
He heard him holler "Stop!"

For Frosty the snowman
Had to hurry on his way,
But he waved goodbye saying,
"Don't you cry,
I'll be back again some day."
Thumpetty thump thump,
Thumpety thump thump,
Look at Frosty go.
Thumpetty thump thump,
Thumpety thump thump,
Over the hills of snow.

That was wonderful. You're a great singer! Ho, ho, ho!

Does it snow a lot where you live? Do you like the snow? I'd better be going now, the elves are calling me to go outside with them and play in the snow. I'll try to make a snowman that looks like an elf.

We've started to get some early Christmas lists already. The elves have gone through the mail bags and have started to make their own list of who wants what. They do a great job of keeping track of all the details. I just have to make the final list, then check it once or twice. Of course, I have to supervise what gets packed onto my sleigh on Christmas eve. That's a very important job and I wouldn't want to forget anything.

Have you finished your list yet? I'll make sure I tell the elves to watch for your letter! Ho, ho, ho!

I just got out the suit that I wore last year on my Christmas rounds and I noticed that it is torn in a number of places. I got a needle and thread and I'm fixing it now.

Not all chimneys are as easy to come down as yours. Some of them are very dirty. I remember one time a few years ago when I got stuck in someone's chimney. Now that I look back on it, it was very funny. But I was kind of nervous when it happened.

Thank goodness for the reindeer, they tugged and yanked and after a good long while they finally pulled me out. I learned a good lesson from that, I try not to put on too much weight just before Christmas. After all, I want to make sure that I can fit down your chimney! Ho, ho, ho!

I was just over in the workshop clearing out a space for the Christmas tree. The workshop is a very busy and noisy place. There are hundreds of elves sitting at work benches hammering and tapping toys together, operating machinery, and gluing tiny parts together. You can hardly hear yourself think. But the elves love this time of year. And so do I! Ho, ho, ho!

How about you? Do like Christmas? I thought so. I've got to go now, Mrs Claus is calling me.

I just came back from a trip to the Christmas tree forest to choose the trees we want for Christmas this year. Mrs. Claus likes to pick out the trees. This year, she had trouble deciding which ones were the best. First she wanted this tree, then she wanted that one, then back to the first one. We were out in the forest for hours. But at last, she chose the perfect tree. It kind of reminded me of the tree that you had last year. It was very pretty as I recall. Oh well, that's all for now. Mrs. Claus is bringing me some hot chocolate, so I've got to go.

I was away for awhile taking care of some details. I had to make special arrangements to come to the town you live in. That way, you and all of the other boys and girls can sit on my lap and tell me what you want for Christmas. That's the fun part of my job. Are you going to come and see me this year? I hope so.

Do you know what you want for Christmas yet? It might be fun if you had someone help you make a list of what you want and send it to me here at the North Pole. The elves open millions of letters each year from boys and girls just like you. I can't wait for Christmas, how about you?

The last time we spoke I told you that Rudolph wasn't felling well. I'm glad to report that Rudolph is over his cold and he's feeling fine! In fact, he's feeling so good, he's out in the field with the other reindeer doing flying practice.

Thank goodness Rudolph is better! He's a very important part of the reindeer that pull my sleigh on Christmas Eve. If it's foggy, he lights up his nose and guides the sleigh so that we can see where we're going. Ho, ho, ho!

I'd better be going, I've got a busy day planned.

I am glad you stopped by today. I wanted to let you know so you don't worry. Rudolph has a bad cold. All day yesterday he was sneezing and coughing so we had the doctor come over to check him out. Thankfully it's just a bad cold. The doctor said he should drink plenty of liquids and he would be fine in a few days.

Mrs. Claus has been taking care of him by giving him bowls of hot tea. Right now I'm going into the house to brew another pot of tea. I think I'll make a little extra so that Mrs. Claus and I can take a break and relax with a nice cup of tea. She can use a break, she's been working awfully hard taking care of Rudolph. Well, I've got to go now and make that tea.

I've got to go back to the house now and clean up my room. I like to keep everything neat and tidy. It makes Mrs. Claus very happy. Do you help out by putting your toys away after you are done playing with them? Excellent, that makes me very happy! Ho, ho, ho!

Well, you'll have to excuse me, Mrs Claus is making vegetable casserole for dinner and I just love that. You eat all of your vegetables, right? I thought so.

Bye for now. See you Tomorrow.

She thinks I'm too thin, ho, ho, ho! She always worries that I won't have enough energy to finish my Christamas rounds, so me makes me eat a very big breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day. And then, to make sure I stay good and plump, she gives me a big snack every night. Oh well, I better hurry inside before Mrs. Claus starts to worry.

Ho, Ho, Ho, Donner, that was a good one. Blitzen, keep your head up, that's right. Excellent! Okay reindeer, practice is over, come on down here, I've got a nice treat for you!

That reminds me, I remember last year you gave me and the reindeer a nice treat when we stopped by your house. I got cookies and milk and you left a carrot for the reindeer. That was perfect timing. By the time we got to your house we were all very tired and hungry (it was a very busy night, you know). Well, I hope you can do the same for us this year. The cookies were great!
